Four suspected drug pushers were killed while nine others allegedly involved in the trade were arrested in separate anti-narcotics operations conducted by police in Bulacan on Thursday afternoon and early yesterday morning.
Reports reaching the office of Chief Supt. Aaron N. Aquino, Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) regional director (RD), identified the slain suspects as Ferdie T. Roxas, alias “Ato Tayao,” 45, married, of Plaridel; Marvin T. Balingit, 38, married, of Malolos City; Elmer dela Cruz, of Pulilan; and an alias “Paolo.”
Aquino said Roxas was the target of a buy-bust operation in Barangay Banga 1st, Plaridel, Bulacan Thursday night when he and his cohort, Balingit, shot it out with police operatives and were killed in the process.
Senior Superintendent Romeo Caramat Jr., acting Bulacan provincial director (PD), said elements of the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (PAIDSOTG), the Bulacan Provincial Public Safety Company (PPSC), and the Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency Region 3 (PDEA-3) were involved in the operation.
Caramat said the same operatives got into an encounter with Dela Cruz and alias “Paolo” in a separate buy-bust operation early yesterday morning on Old Tabang Road, Barangay Tabang, Plaridel, where the two were gunned down.
9 nabbed in buy-bust
Meanwhile, a buy-bust operation past midnight yesterday in Barangay Bancal, Meycauayan City, resulted in the initial arrest of Lauro San Gabriel alias “Larry,” 50; Benjie Millapis, alias “Lovely,” a female, 31.
Supt. Lailene Amparo said that prior to busting the two suspects, they invited the poseur buyer to a pot session where seven others were subsequently arrested.
Amparo identified them as Mark Joseph Domingo, 23, of Malabon City; Joebert Torres, 24; Joy Lopez; Bernardo Anuat, 40, a pedicab driver from Valenzuela City; Redentor Gonzales, 27; Reynaldo Evangelista, 21; and John Ryan Morelos, 27.
The SOCO team from the Bulacan Provincial Crime Laboratory who processed the scene recovered the following pieces of evidence: one (1) caliber 38 revolver with serial No. 39512, loaded of three (3) pcs. fired cartridge and two (2) pcs. live ammos, one (1) caliber .38 revolver with no trademark loaded of one (1) fired cartridge, four (4) pcs. of live ammos, one cal .38 revolver Jagwar with serial number 196798; one (1) Cal .38 revolver Armscor 202 with serial number 1386933, seven (7) fired cartridges cases for cal 9mm, eight (8) pcs. caliber 9mm fired cartridge; two (2) pcs. medium sized plastic sachets of shabu; six (6) pcs of heat sealed sachets of shabu; two P500 bills as buy bust money; one (1) and Nissan Urvan with conduction sticker OV-4400.
No. 1 most wanted
Last Monday, Caramat also reported the arrest of Antonio Palomo Baldomero, 38, a native of Laoang, Northern Samar, who has been wanted for murder in the last 17 years.
He said Baldomero was nabbed for being a troublemaker in Gatchalian Area, Tibagan, Barangay Caypombo, Sta. Maria, Bulacan by the team of Sta. Maria chief of police, Supt. Raniel M. Valones.
When his background was checked, Baldomero turned out to be the No. 1 most wanted man in Laoang. (With a report from Freddie C. Velez)
