Samsung Galaxy Note 7 banned by more airlines over fire risk - BBC

Được đăng bởi Man United

An airline flight ban on Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 is spreading fast after reports some phones have caught fire.

Carriers in Australia, Asia and Europe put the phone on a prohibited list over the weekend, which comes after the US banned the device last week.

Carriers flying to the US inevitably had to follow suit, but the bans are spreading worldwide.
In addition to several flag carriers taking action, Air Berlin, Dragonair and Virgin Australia now have bans.

Qantas and its discount carrier Jetstar said in a statement: "The ban applies to devices being carried onto the aircraft, in carry-on baggage as well as check-in luggage."

Virgin Australia issued a similar announcement, but added that passengers were "strongly advised" not to bring the Note 7 phone to airports.

Air Berlin has banned the phones with immediate effect. Larger German rival Lufthansa has a ban on flights to the US, but is reportedly planning to impose the restriction across all flights soon.

Singapore Airlines said on its Facebook page that "the Galaxy Note 7 smartphone will be prohibited from being brought on board all our flights in person, in carry-on baggage or checked-in baggage with effect from 16 October".

Samsung recalled around 2.5 million phones in September after complaints of exploding batteries.
While it later insisted that all replaced devices were safe, there were reports that those phones were catching fire too.

The company then said it would stop Galaxy Note 7 production.

Forget Lewis Hamilton, the talk of Asia was all Akash Gowda in Clark Philippines (Angeles City) this weekend with FORMULA 4 in town

Được đăng bởi Man United

After a double win on Saturday, Akash Gowda had the lone podium finish on Sunday in Race 4, under torrential conditions in Philippines.

With typhoon hitting the Clark circuit, the races on Sunday in Round 2 of Formula 4 South East Asia championship turned out to be hugely difficult for the drivers.

The morning's Race 3 was cut short due to heavy run with part of it run behind the safety car after several drivers were caught off guard in the slippery conditions.

Before the race was red-flagged, polesitter Faine Kahia had lost his lead to debutant Gabriel Cabrera, who took his maiden win from another newcomer Khalid Al-Wahaibi.

Behind the top two, Angie King completed the podium, with Kahia retiring as did Gowda. Meanwhile, Mohammed Nalwalla ended a solid fifth.

Podium for Gowda

With rain continuing to fall, the fourth race of the weekend saw poleman Presley Martono drop to fourth at the start, allowing fast-starter Al-Wahaibi to shoot from sixth into the lead.

It was not long that Martono re-gained his composure and was right on the tail of Al-Wahaibi, while Gowda, Kahia and Cabrera battled for third.

After a brief safety car period, the race resumed with the top five settled in the order, but an unfortunate retirement to race leader Al-Wahaibi, gave Martono the lead.

The Indonesian managed to keep Gowda at bay to claim his maiden win, while the Indian settled for second and Kahia edging out Cabrera for third.

Nalwalla, who started from the front-row was caught out in the wet conditions and dropped to finish eighth behind King.

Fighting fourth for Gowda

Race 5 turned out to be the last one of the weekend after the final race was postponed for a later date as conditions worsened at Clark.

The fifth race saw Kahia and Martono battle for win after polesitter Cabrera dropped back into the clutches of Al-Wahaibi and Gowda.

The Indian was able to get past the Omani driver and catch Cabrera, but with the rain getting stronger, the officials ended the race with three laps remaining.

Thus, Kahia took win from Martono, while Cabrera kept third with Gowda having to settle for fourth. Nalwalla, meanwhile, retired ending a tough second round for the teen.

Gowda named best driver of the weekend

For two race wins and a podium finish, Gowda was given the 'Petran Star Driver' award for the second round of the season.

"What an amazing weekend this has been for me! Admitted the conditions were really difficult with the heavy rains," reflected Gowda.

"I do enjoy racing in the rain but it was very difficult this weekend and very unpredictable. Overall I am really happy with the result, two wins and a podium in Race 4.

"In Race 4, I tried several times to close in on Presley [Martono] but he proved a difficult man to overtake! It was a really good race though," he added.

Kandi takes sophistication and style to the next level, leading the way in Angeles City residential living and value for money - Philippines

Được đăng bởi Man United

For a long time I have stayed in and around Angeles City and I have stayed in all the Hotels and started to ask myself where could you actually stay where it does not feel like 1970, Look at the hotels Clarkton (home of a very good buffet and excellent staff) but it really looks so outdated but the rooms are around 2500 pesos a night so you cannot have everything, ABC has always been my favorite hotel in Angeles for good reason the staff are 100% professional and everything has a great attention to detail, the rooms are fully equipped with everything you need for a short vacation but for the long term you are really spending some serious money a minimum of 6000 pesos a night and if you put that into a full monthly rental you are spending a lot of San Miguel beer vouchers... so what do you do? reduce the quality and have more beers or look for somewhere that is both sophisticated and affordable but also still caring about the customer experience?

So take a visit to the 99% sold out KANDI towers and check out the plans for the next Kandi development and you will be amazed, I recently spent some time there and was greeted by a very friendly Filipino manager on arrival who was extremely helpful showing me all the views from the balcony, highlighting the excellent televisions in both the lounge and the bedroom and then showed me the swimming pool. I honestly thought I was staying in Cancun not Angeles City the place was white and clean everything was modern and the room designs had just unbelievable detail, I really had to kick myself to believe it. On the reservation desk there is a western girl, a Korean guy who is very proactive and respected in the local Korean community and then some Filipino girls who are all very polite and helpful with Taxi bookings, local information or even ordering food delivery.

The owner of Kandi Mark Savino and Frazer are nothing but helpful, how many businesses do you get there an owner would ask you if you wanted a slice of his own handmade pizza? I can tell you almost none, the effort the guys put in to people having a great stay is unbelievable and I cannot say anything bus positives about the guys.

If you have never been over to Kandi give the guys a call and let them show you around I cannot think of better value for money in town and there are many options for each customer type, single monger, married with wife, small family or even businessman in an out of the city. From originally being 9 condo's Kandi is now a community and it could almost be subdivision all of its own with all the developments being close together.

Here are some useful contacts for the team at Kandi, go and take a look and i am sure you like me will be very impressed:
